Chasing The Carrot: Music and Life by The Late Philosopher Alan Watts

A short video called Music and Life, narrated by the philosopher Alan Watts. Are you still chasing the carrot?

Alan Watts was a great British philosopher and writer, best known for popularizing Eastern philosophies for a Western audience. He wrote prolifically on the nature of reality, higher consciousness, the meaning of life, and the non-matieral pursuit of happiness.

The following video is a flash-philosophy of Alan's view of life; how we are so busy racing to the end that we forget to enjoy the journey. He compares it to the enjoyment of a beautiful symphony. The voice is Alan Watts, the animation is by Matt Stone and Trey Parker of South Park fame. I think it creates a nice light bulb moment for those of us still fuming ahead in the rat race, chasing the carrot of material reward, relinquishing much of our personal time and freedom in the process.
